This was another SWEET Amazon.com findIt works perfectly- a few different people can sit down to paint candy molds at one time-- walk away for a bit (when the kids get bored) and come back to it a short while later (while I'm still working away) and continue to help.We (my 2 preteen daughters, their friends and myself) were able to add decorated chocolate candies for our holiday cookie platters.It melted a rainbow of candy melts-(a variety of TEN different colors!!) kept them the perfect working temperature for several hours (no burning/charring).We DID find working with round wood toothpicks was FAR easier than the wilton candy brushes- less messy and easier to get into the small crevices/details fo the molds. (I found something labeled 'fruit skewers' in the kitchen gadget aisle at the food store-identical to traditional round wood toothpicks- only an inch and a half longer)This is going to make decorating chocolates much less labor intensive than before...

This worked very well. It heated up faster than I expected and kept the chocolate a nice even consistency throughout the painting/decorating process. I only wish it were bigger so it could hold more chocolate. I would recommend buying this.

first, this item is misrepresented in two ways:a) the item states it weighs about 6 lbs., I took the weight into consideration before purchasing, because I thought I would be getting a substantial product. The item, packaging included, does not weigh more than 1 lb. (if that much).b) secondly, the little metal cups are fitted into the melter very tightly so it cannot be easily removed without a struggle. Each time I have attempted to remove a cup, the sides of the cup become scuffed and scratched by the sides of the palette.otherwise, it does melt the chocolate and keep it melted without burning.
